Ballinrobe Racecourse
Ballinrobe Racecourse is located one mile from the town on the main Castlebar road (N84). It is the only Racecourse in Mayo and is one of only 4 in Connaught and hosts nine race meetings annually. Ballinrobe possesses a slightly elevated right-handed track and boasts an exceptional view of every stride. Major developments have recently taken place at the Racecourse and include a new modern grandstand, enlarged enclosure, new turnstiles, revamped restaurant, new toilet block, tote betting facilities, two comfortable bars & a press room with broadband connections.
The Problem
John Flannelly first approached us to make parade ring seats & comfortable outdoor benches at the racecourse. John had previously used a combination of metal and timber which had high maintenance costs. John was looking for a bench that was strong and durable, had no splinters and top of his wish list was a maintenance free product. He later approached us for T&G boards for his stable doors. He needed a product that was strong, robust and durable.
The Solution
We showed John a project we had completed in 2010 with Sligo County Council where seating was in situ along the Pier Road, Enniscrone, Co. Sligo. We explained that the boards used were solid, durable and the colour goes right through the profile so it does not need painting and will retain its good look. We delivered the parade ring seats & Claggan benches which gave John the peace of mind that he could now move onto the next project.
